Hello, so I just purchased a house with a pool and I'm rather new to this whole thing. (Eastern Canada)

Previous owners replaced the pool liner last year. Now that spring is coming I did a quick walk through and noticed a crack or should I say a gap where the stairs mets the liner meets the edge

Is this normal? Won't water get in there? Will mold grow in there? Should I seal it? if so how? What will happen in winter?

My second question is I noticed a rather long crack that goes over the entire slab near the stairs.

Friend of mine told me I absolutely need to get this fixed because when winter comes it's going to get worse.

If it is in need of attention, how should this be tackled? Fill it with some cement? Get it professionally fixed?
