Post Body

Okay so,

I have about a 13,500k gal pool. It sat over the winter here in AZ. Got tired of looking at my swamp.

We cleaned the filter system out perfectly. All buckets, returns, everything.

Day 1: Hit it with about 6 sticks of shock and let it sit for 24 hours with the cleaning system on. Slightly lightened the water but its still murky as can be.

Day 2: Checked the filter system. Clean. Hit it again with another 2 sticks of shock. Then hit it with clarifier. Let sit for 24 hours. Not much different.

Day 3: Hit the pool with 4 gallons of chlorine and more clarifier. Tested the water. PH is still 8 , water is still murky. Now there is foam around the edges of the pool and a type of particle swarm moving around the top of the pool and hitting the intake.

What more can I do to this pool besides draining it? 3 days and $130 later the pool is slightly more clear but still very murky and full of particles. I did vacuum the bottom of the pool today but it seemed to spit back out from the return into the pool.

Help.

Update**

Added a gallon of muriatic acid to it. As well as recommended amount of drop out to get the hard particles to sink. 2 hours after acid the PH dropped from 8 to about a 6. Chlorine is at about a 4. Going to get a better test kit tomorrow and check CYA levels and available chlorine.
