Pool timer paddle not working

Hello, About a year ago I replaced my Intermatic pool timer with the same analog timer, and it’s been working how it was supposed to. This morning I woke up to the sound of the bubbles in my pool and in fact my pump was running, I went and try to switch it off from the switch and although the lever will flip to the off position, it won’t turn off the pump. I had to turn off the pump with the other switch. Any suggestions?
