So I’ve been thinking about getting a dog for the family for the last few years every now and then… I’ve always decided not to buy one in the end because I was not comfortable with it, but I won’t stop wondering. I live with my wife and 3 young kids (between 1 and 6 yo). We have a cat and chickens and I think a dog is a great fit for our situation. The thing is I’ve never owned a dog in my life. I was raised without animals and dogs used to scare me when a was a kid/teenager (even pugs lol). So I am very not used to being a dog owner but my wife has more experience and she’s willing to take care of the dog more than me, but I’m scared that I won’t like it in the end… what can I expect from raising a standard poodle? My friend has a few puppies to sell and we are very interested in one of them.
