NEED HELP!

Hello, so I have just recently bought a red poodle and I am so excited but I believe I made a big mistake by bringing him to petco to try on new colors and a leash and I put him on the floor which I have read is a big no no . So I am a little concerned right now. As of right now he is asleep, should I attempt to clean his paws?
