I made this pond and bog filter (lava rock, Coble stones, pea gravel). Before I added the bog the water was clear. And Before I added the rock to the bog, I rinse them pretty good ( I hope..). After I turned on the pump the water became very cloudy. I'm hoping it should clear up soon?

Another problem I'm having is the water levelflow in the bog. I'm using the bottom tote's valve to pump water into the bog with gravity. And a pump at the bottom of the bog filter to pump water back into the tote. The problem is, I can't get the water flow rate right in the bog with out either over flowing the bog or draining it. The only valve I'm usto control the flow is the totes cut off valve but I'll be adding an additional valve to the pipe later today. Any other recommendations to address this?

What should I use as a screen to prevent fish from getting sucked through the valve at the bottom of the tote??
