Adapting to the uberman, but I have been getting REM sleep since day 1?
Post Body

I decided over the summer I was going to attempt to learn the uberman. I have been reading about it for months, I made sure I was prepared for EVERYTHING. I have 4 people to support me, 3 friends and my mother, who are willing to get up at 4am to make sure I did not oversleep. Everything was in place.

But something very interesting happened; I have been getting REM sleep in my naps since day 1. Half of my naps are dream filled REM naps that leave me feeling either refreshed or groggy for a few minutes and then refreshed once I fully wake up. I read that everyone who attempted to adjust to this sleep cycle would not get any REM sleep until around day 6, and around day 10 the majority of naps would be REM filled. I just find it really weird.

Since I am getting this REM sleep (currently on day 7 of my sleep cycle) I have only overslept twice - both times were me stupidly laying on the couch waiting for my friend to come over. I feel completely coherent and have been working on all my hobbies regularly.

My question is first, has that happened to any of you? Have any of you just adjusted very easily?

My second question is, for those of you that have, have you been avid lucid dreamers? I have been a lucid dreamer for around two years and my friend (one of my supporters, also my friend who is a avid lucid dreamer himself) feels that my lucid dreaming has had some affect on how I sleep and allowed me to get to REM faster. Does that make any sense? Is there a correlation between Lucid Dreaming and adapting faster?

Thank you for your time, just trying to make sense of this.
