Sculpting onto cheap "wood" frame?
Post Body

Hello,

I'd like to embellish some frames but I'm fairly sure they're not entirely real solid wood (MDF? particle board?) and they're stained and sealed. That would make me concerned about putting it into the oven.

Am I wrong about the oven? Would it be okay?

I thought about air dry clay but I've read in a couple of places that it would shrink and crack.

Now, I don't speak Russian but it looks like, in this tutorial, she doesn't bake the clay and relies on the glue, paint, and seal? Might this be okay for my purposes?

I really appreciate your help!
