I am an autistic dude (fairly recently diagnosed), and I am having a hard time with my partner. I have a lot of anxiety around it, but I have some odd issues around equity regarding texting and phone use. I’ve tried multiple times to bring this up and pointing out that when my partner is with their other person (as well as a few other friends), they’re very quiet and hard to contact via phone, but when they’re with me, they’re very fine with being on their phone and don’t think they’re doing anything wrong or feel like it’s appropriate of me to ask that they be more mindful. I’m an elder millennial, and they’re a late Millennial, so I know there’s some cultural distinction in how we interact with phones and tech, but I’m curious how I can best bring it up (again) without seeming like an ass.
