Vacations & Non-Married Partners
Post Body

I told my hubby (together 12 years) I want to do a short upstate trip with my other partner. He’s not comfortable with me being away for the weekend. I really want to go, new city, new experience, and sadly it feels childish to ask for permission and get the “you’re treating him like a second husband” talk. The financial responsibility will be on me for the trip, not asking my spouse to contribute, though we obviously share finances.

Any advice on traveling with partners or deciding not to because someone says no? Where is the room for autonomy?
