Hey everybody, I’m James, 34 and from Ireland. I was in 2 minds about posting or not. I’ve posted in the past with mixed results. It’s definitely important to read this before messaging me.

First of all, I’m polyamorous and am not interested in marriage or having children. I am also neurodivergent; I suffer from clinical depression, and I’m dyspraxic as fuck. If you are okay with these things, then you should read on.

I’m hoping to chat and make friends here, but it’s also my hope to find some partners/relationships too, whether they are casual or more serious. I am an empath (I recently joined r/amihot, so I could help boost people’s self-esteem), so I’m always attentive to my partners: emotionally, mentally and sexually/physically.

I’m an avid gamer and academic. I mainly play tabletop and roleplaying games, but I also enjoy computer games too: mainly RPGs and Survival Horror. I love to read history, philosophy and science. When it comes to fiction, I am well-read across a range of genres. I have a soft spot for fantasy: Terry Pratchett, Robert E. Howard and J.R.R Tolkien mainly. I’m always after recommendations though.

When it comes to TV and film, I love horror -you’re probably noticing a pattern by now – and comedy. I do have a habit of watching the same shows over and over though. I enjoy animation too: The Simpsons, South Park, Rick & Morty, Futurama, Adventure Time and Bob’s Burgers are among my favourites.

I need to make it clear that I need somebody who knows how to converse. The amount of people who have no idea is frustrating. If you’re just going to talk about yourself when prompted, ignore most of what I say, and/or not ask anything in return, then please move on: I’m not remotely interested.

When it comes to conversation, I don’t do small talk. I would rather talk about existentialism than the weather. I love to discuss politics, religion, philosophy, science, anything that actually matters.

I am a sceptic, a humanist and an atheist. Whereas I don’t need someone to be an atheist, I do require them to be a humanist and a sceptic. In case it’s not clear by now, I am a liberal/left-winger. I give a shit about people, even though they annoy the fuck out of me. I am not interested in dating conservatives or people on the right-wing.

What I’m looking for:

·         Physical appearance doesn’t matter too much, but I do have a preference towards goth/metal/alternative styles

·         I don’t care about race, though I do have a soft spot for black girls

·         Into gaming

·         Enjoys reading

·         Can hold a conversation
