I have DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder), and honestly, it can be incredibly lonely. There are several alters in our system, each with their own experiences and ways of being, and it feels like weāre always working around the loneliness together but never quite overcoming it. Itās hard to connect with others when it feels like youāre not fully seen, you know? And it's so rare to find anyone who truly understands what itās like, as most people only know it from movies where it's badly portrayed, or from misconceptions and misinformation that are very commonly spread.
Our system is polyamorous and we have a partner, though we date separately. At this point we're mainly looking for someone to talk to, and once we build a friendship we can see if it might develop into more.
We're hoping to find someone who can accept that thereās a lot more to us than meets the eye, and whoās okay with talking to different alters and getting to know them. We obviously don't expect you to know everything about it from the get-go, but we're looking for someone patient and open-minded enough to try to understand.
If you're open to learning more about DID, we're happy to explain! We just need someone whoās willing to listen and keep an open mind. We're looking for real, vulnerable conversations, such as talking about what scares us, what makes us feel disconnected, or even just what we dream of doing if the world felt a little more accepting.
If youāve read this far, include the word ābubbleā in your message somewhere so I know youāre serious. Iām tired of small talk, I just want to connect with someone who can be real and see all of us for who we are. I won't reply to low effort messages, please at least send a few sentences minimum so I can get a feel for who you are.
Iāll probably delete this post later, but for now Iām just hoping to find someone who can handle the complexity and isnāt afraid to talk about the deeper stuff.
