A few months ago I was in a FWB D/S dynamic with a guy. At the start he said he did parallel poly but we never really discussed what that meant, through my own research I figured (I know, never assume) that it meant if he found other partners we would never meet or anything and I was honest in that I didn't want details about their situation, including names and stuff.

Well, he found a woman he wanted to take on as a sub, which quickly turned into a full blown romantic relationship. Suddenly he was sharing a lot of details about their relationship with me, including that she had expressed a desire to have a threesome with me. And that we all had to sit down together to discuss how their relationship would affect our dynamic.

Ultimately shit fell apart for a number of reasons, but now I'm questioning everything.

Was I wrong for thinking parallel meant we never had to meet or interact? When they started dating I asked for clarification on things and never got it so I ended up ending it.
