When you break up with someone, do you typically avoid contact?
Post Body

There's a lot of reasons to avoid contact after a break up (bittersweet memories, toxic relationship, ex.).

In monogamous relationships it's usually the standard to avoid contact with your ex because future/potential partners might feel uncomfortable with you having an ex in your life. In open poly relationships, this wouldn't be as much as an issue so, how do you guys approach it?

I'm asking because when I stop actively dating a person but we're on good terms, we usually continue to casually keep in touch. Occasionally, we even hook up or go on dates just for fun (depending on the person). I have few people like this in my life and, I'm starting to wonder if this might be holding me back me from fully moving on and exploring new relationships.
