I dated N for a few months, then we broke up because of some misunderstandings and communication issues. After the breakup, we took some time to be away from each other. Later we agreed we can still see each other, but not officially dating / have a serious relationship while we learn how to communicate with each other (on top of them seeking a counselor to address other issues of their own). The frequency of us seeing each other has intentionally decreased.
I never felt too much for N when we were dating (they are aware of it). When we started seeing each other again after the breakup, somehow the breakup and talking everything out brought us closer and made me feel much more for them than I did before. Recently it’s back to not feeling much...again. I don’t know what’s happening?? I don’t know if it’s my new medication affecting me, or I’m tired of them talking about their cats... Sometimes certain things N does just irritate me for no reason.
For my other partners, my feelings are usually straightforward. Somehow with N, my feelings keep fluctuating and/or affected by their emotions. How can I separate my emotions from theirs?
