Polyamorous, in theory. Traumatized by incestuous friendships and on guard, in reality.
Post Body

Has anyone else had this happen in polyamory? In the beginnings of open relationship, my friend circle turned into a spiderweb of people hooking up with each other, people fading in and out of primary positions with others, partner swapping, trying each other out and it working for a while and then dying off after NRE or a primary taking priority, triad after triad....looking back it was kind of an emotional rollercoaster and a frenzy of this newfound lifestyle.

Recently my marriage fell apart for mistakes, communication hiccups, trauma responses, and I got cast out of this friend group. Looking back on it now that I'm on the outside, it looks as if those people only priority people who give them sexual gratification, as if there's no care for platonic intimacy.

Is this a normal part of the learning curve? Can anyone relate?
