I’m seeing a lot of people say definitively “yes” or “no” but the truth is it varies widely by county. You can actually look up any public school teacher salary by googling it.
“X county, GA teacher salary” and it’s usually a pay scale based on years teaching, bachelors, masters, phd, as well as additionally certification.
A fair amount of teachers in GA will indeed start above the 50k mark but only in the more wealthy counties. My wife who teaches kindergarten in GA with her masters started above this mark.
