While I haven’t heard the particular episode you refer to, I do remember listening to episodes in the past where he has interviewed paleontologists and the like, and there actually has been a “push” from well-known scientists to straight out ignore recent data suggesting the theories that have formed the bases of those sciences have been incorrect. There are a number of scientists in academia who are actually known to do that.
So, I wanna say they were perhaps referring to the scientists who have become well known in academia and refuse to accept new data because it would mean the work they’ve done their whole life is incorrect.
I wouldn’t peg Joe Rogan for wanting to spread misinformation. But again, I’d need to listen to the episode myself.
