Hi folks, so I recently passed out and now on shift and to be honest I have loved every single moment of being on the job!
made a few mistakes already and just generally fumbling my way through each call but in saying that I have loved every single day and being out in the public.
I have treated everyone I have met in the public with respect and I try chat to them like normal human beings they are
I have however come across a couple of jaded police officers who hate the job. I am just worried that I will end up doing the same.
I really want to keep the reasons I joined the force to stay but with all the negativity around it seems as though that will be hard to do.
does anyone have any advice?
That's a fantastic way of looking towards it
I understand that response policing isn't for everyone for different reasons, for myself I don't want to spend my entire career in response but this is the bread and butter of what policing is.
But I am very grateful for your input and I will definitely keep it in mind!

I have only done a few obs! I agree it can become extremely boring and difficult to stay awake
although I have developed a scene of humor with it since I cannot hear what hear what they are saying, I like to imagine conversations they are having with the staff
