Hello, I am (23F) and as the title states I want to know how long does it take to become a state trooper in the state of Massachusetts. Other officers in other states feel free to join in. So I took the State Trooper exam in the state that I live in and I passed it. I did excellent. But here’s the problem it’s been a year since I took this exam. I talked to a recruiter and he told me that they’ll reach out when they’re hiring, but I don’t know how long that’s going to be so waiting is to be expected. So while I wait, I’m the type of person that believes in prior proper planning (I have Never served in the military ) I heard this from someone and I love it, so I apply it to everything I do. I did lots of research online and try to figure out as much as I can about the Academy the expected wait time and what I could potentially be learning while I’m there. Unfortunately, the Internet isn’t answering any questions that I have only general information regarding Troopers. I’ve even been looking into Internships at state / local police agencies because I’m going to school for EMT and I know that officers work with paramedics so there’s a potential for insight. Personally I hate sitting down and doing nothing I’m trying to be as productive as possible but I feel like I’m getting nowhere. So if anyone has any information about what I can expect and what this process is going to look like for me I would greatly appreciate it and thank you so much in advance.
