I went to my first class a few weeks ago and I was so scared. I’m a homebody, I’m terrible with dancing and have no sense of rhythm, and my body is weak, especially my arms. Like I’ve never been able to do one push up, even at my fittest, type of weak.
And the class was so exhilarating!! I did terribly, and even the warm up had me winded. I could barely do a crunch with the pole. But it felt like magic.
Now, a few weeks later, I just came back from my 5th class, and I can feel myself getting stronger. I did a spin today, and although it was low, and I was dying, and the girls in my group were all (sweetly) yelling to point my toes (I couldn’t), I did it!! I love this so much.
I’ve been strength training throughout the week to build up my muscle and little by little, those kgs I’m lifting are going up. Just bought my little towel, and some pole grip. I’m so excited to have something to focus on this winter and coming year, and can’t wait to see how I progress.
