Hi everyone, I'm seeking some advice regarding my deposit and rent. I want to know what precautions I should take. I will be leaving Poland on the 1st of October and I'm determined not to lose my deposit again. I had a bad experience in Warsaw two years ago where I didn't get my deposit back, despite informing my landlord 45 days prior about my move-out plans and ensuring that nothing was damaged. Eventually, he disappeared and blocked me via email, leaving me without my deposit. While I'm not suggesting this will happen again, I want to safeguard myself from such a situation.
My next rent payment is due on the 10th of September, and I'll be vacating the flat on the 30th of September. I also requested my landlord to deduct my rent from the deposit, but he disagreed. Everything in the flat is in the same condition as when I moved in.
Could you please let me know what he can do legally if I don't pay the rent on the 10th of September? This includes any potential claims, eviction periods, and so on.
