So I head to Jax for the Gator Bowl, and since I live in a state with ZERO gambling, I make time to hit the card room prior to kick. Been playing NL since 1994. Not a pro by any means, but I've seen a few hands in my day.
I sit at a 2-2 with about an hour to kill. Win a few pots and get up. Bleed a few back. Them I wake up with Cowboys. Seat 1 (Villain) is SB. UTG folds and I'm next to act and raise to $16. Villain tells the table I have Kings. Dealer quickly REPEATS THIS! Before I realize this, I get 4 calls (LOL) and Villain raises to $140. I jam of course and everyone folds to this clown who calls.
Board runs Q85-3-3...
I flip my hand and show KK. Dude slowly checks his cards and turns over A3cc for trips. Takes my stack of $250ish.
Now it gets wild. Instead of shutting up and stack his winnings, the dude proceeds to brag he called my hand and did so...CAUSE I HAD A SUITED ACE!
F'n donk...your 3 got you there, runner, runner. He kept bragging 'I knew my suited Ace was good vs his Kings.' Said it like 4 times, too. Was wearing a Yankees hat to boot.
I had $60 in my pocket and played it. Lost it to him of course and left for football game. Decided to leave Gator Bowl early and go back to find this clown. That's when I thought if he was still around, he probably would be all but busted.
Sure enough, as God made little green apples, I found the donk at a 2-5 table in the front of the card room and AS PREDICTED...he had maybe $50 in front of him. He saw me and I asked what happened? He proceeded to cry about a hand just a few minutes ago that cleaned him out. Idiot.
I told him and the table how he donked my chips and how I predicted I'd find him all but broke, and they had a good laugh. He busted out a few hands later.
Moral is if you win a pot for reasons you didn't have in mind based on your hand, STFU and play. Donk. I won $150 back and drove home.
