How do I study?

Post Body

This sounds a stupid question, but I hear a lot of people talk about studying half the time, and playing the other half. But what/how should I be studying?

I'll start by saying my aim isnt to be a pro or anything, I just like to improve. I'll play small MMTs with friends (40ish players) and micro stakes cash to practice a bit. Dad life stops me queuing up to MMTs online all that often.

I've read a few books on body language/tells, which I enjoyed. I've watched my favourite players to try and pick up some of their thought processes. But I seem to have an issue, and that's mostly around solvers and technical play. If I'm watching a Jonathan Little video, I can understand the key points, but the minute detail just gets lost on me.

I have 2 major issues when I try to study. First, there's a tonne of "well, you can do X or Y and it's not too bad". And most important, too much information to reastically be able to use when I've got a 30 second timer.

I'd love a sort of "thought process" to follow, I often feel jumbled with my thoughts when working out whether to make a bet or call a raise etc. How do you get past that.

Final question - if I review my hands, what should I be looking out for? How do you disect them?

Appreciate this is a wide topic, but I can't actually seem to find good information on this stuff.
