Okay, so wanted some feedback on a recent hand. I'm UTG and wake up with AA. It's a 1/2 game that plays bigger than that sometimes. I'm playing right around $400. I raise to $21, high jack pops it to $100 and the button calls. HJ has $300 behind after the raise and button has around $220 left after making the call.
Not really wanting to have 3 way action, especially when players in this game can be maniacs, I ship it. HJ tanks for 2 mins before he calls. Button is wrestling with his decision and announces that he can't be KK or AA. He finally does call and the cards are tabled..there's discussion about running 2 boards or flop and 3 turn/river.
I'm inclined to run multiplies to protect my hand but wanted feedback on what you would do.
I'll skip to the good details, we settled on running 2 boards which I never do. Usually I'll say flop and 3 on big hands but decided 2 boards this time. That ended up saving me. Flop comes QQx. At that point was hoping for the A to peel on the turn or river as the bad beat where I play is AAAQQ beaten by quads or better and it will pay on the natural board but not the second. But that was just wishful thinking obviously.
Lucky break to run multiplies or should I always be running multiple boards, full or otherwise, or should I be ripping it there? Should I have not shipped it and just popped it up another $100? Looking forward to hearing feedback on the
