This seems to kill me every time in Holdem and PLO. I flop the nut straight with no redraws and end up losing. I need to update my thinking process here against multiple opponents.
I have Ts8s in the bb and I raise 3x out of my 385bb stack. Both the small blind (98 bb) and bb (132bb) call and we're off to the flop. I'm thinking that I have a good hand preflop, i'm in position as the preflop raiser. My opponents are out of position so this is a good situation for me I feel.
Flop comes Jh9hQc. Both opponents check to me and I bet 1/2 pot. I'm betting for value here and I feel a lot of worse hands/draws will pay me off. Both opponents call my bet. I'm thinking here that they are both on draws. Pairs would probably fold on this wet of a board.
Turn is a Ks. Both opponents check here and I decide to bet against which I feel is a mistake. I was betting for value but I didn't anticipate someone would shove on me. Which is what happened. The SB called and the BB shoved. Only had I was losing to was AT. I called and sb called with the right odds to chase a flush.
River 6h. Since we're all in, there's no more betting. BB had 6To for a chop with me but SB had K7h for the rivered flush.
I feel that I should have checked the flop and not fall victim of a player shoving all in and I could have a lost a lot less. These situations are so hard to balance between winning the most and losing the least.
