There is a lot of hate here for PokerGo; much of it justified, the rest of it, folks being butthurt for the sake of being butthurt.
Overall I enjoyed the coverage between both them and ESPN. I just wanted to point out a few things and give credit where credit is due IMO:
Nick Schulman - His real-time analysis has been fantastic to listen to. However, my brain gets confused hearing him talk. I'm not sure if I'm listening to Taco from The League or Gilfoyle from Silicon Valley--perhaps it's a combination of both. I preferred the commentary of PokerGo to the usual ESPN coverage we are familiar with. Schulman > Esfandiari
Meeting the Field - The ability to see far more hands than usual has allowed for me to better understand the players. You can really get a good feel for their styles and personalities. I feel like I actually have a stake in who makes it to the final table with the various players I've been pulling for, when normally I could care less.
Cordcutter Friendly - I'm a cordcutter and having great quality content streamed (basically live) in HD is always nice. It crapped out at times as has already been pointed out, but overall it's been great. To my knowledge all we really have as cordcutters is WPT on Pluto and PokerGo. WPT is free, so unless Poker After Dark is as good/better than it used to be, or more tournaments are added to the PokerGo schedule, I'll probably cancel here shortly. The WPT Bad Boys of Poker and this WSOP ME actually has my girlfriend interested in poker, which is saying something, given the typical demographics of poker.
For the future I really wish we could watch ALL coverage via PokerGo or at least ALL hands not being shown on ESPN. Having it just suddenly end was a terrible cliffhanger each day.
