Just getting started with PLO after playing predominantly NLHE and trying to get used to laying down bigger hands without turning into a total nit - not sure if this hand crosses the line.
Standard open on the button I think, double suited with an Ace and well connected. BB calls, at 5NL I think his range is pretty wide but I have no stats on him.
Flop is great for me - open ended SD, nut flush draw amd a pair. Definite cbet and happy to GII if he raises.
Turn - I make two pair which is nice I guess although 47 and 79 get there for him. Think I am mostly going to be firing 2nd barrel here given how much equity I have even against his made hands. He pots it back to me and here I am not sure. Obv he is representing a made straight, and straight draws must make up a large chunk of his floating range. Doubt he is doing this with Khigh flush draw or a worse 2 pair. I call which may be a mistake. If he has 79xx then I have 28% equity and he is giving me only 38% pot odds. Don't need to much in the way of implied odds to make this OK though and 5nl players are probably going to pay off at least semi-regularly if I make a FH/flush on the river.
River - I make the 2nd nuts. He fires pot more or less. I need to win 32.9%(edit) of the time to be profitable calling here, is he firing with worse than nuts here that often? I do have the 7 blocker but not sure this makes enough of a difference. Also I block hands he could be overplaying here with my 8 and 6.
I think the river fold I feel OK with, not so sure about the turn call. If I need to fold turn to a check raise then should I be checking back turn so I don't get blown off my equity, given much of his flop floating range connects well with this turn?
Thanks for any input.
