weird situation at showdown, would like reg opinions
Post Body

The action is for the most part irrelevant, I'm not looking for advice on how the hand was played as I'm aware the preflop flat is horrendous but the game was playing as it was playing and i was being a silly goose, just stay with me for the end result. This was a 2/5/10 due to mando straddle (1k max) game in a casino which is relevant due to the professionalism of the dealer. Also relevant.. I am in the 2 seat, V in 1 seat.

V raises to 35.

I call with 7s5s (870 effective)

Two other callers.

4 ways to flop(140) 4h 6h Ad

V bets 55, I call, others both fold

Heads up to Turn(250) 7d

V continues for 85, I call

River(420) 9c putting a final board of 46A79, both flush draws miss and i have 57, for one pair.

V bets 140 and I jam for roughly 550

V thinks for less than ten seconds, says i call and puts in a stack. I don't say anything and just flip my hand over. He sucks his teeth and says that's good. I can't possibly fathom that he makes this call in this situation with K high. It seems with the utmost certainty he is misreading my hand. Due to us being to the left corner of the table and him answering so quickly, the dealer never grabs my cards to place them in the middle and indicate the best five card hand. He says I'm good, and is still holding his cards, the dealer counts out my chips and he counts out the amount to pay me which felt like time stood still. Everyone around the table is quiet. A player from the other side of the table stands up squinting and is mouthing "just a pair?" The player eventually pays out the chips, takes one more look and mucks his cards, exposing a red Jack in the process but himself flips it back over face down and the hand is officially over, i rake in the pot and i just feel.. icky.

I've been playing for over ten years. When I am called, whether bluffing or value betting, i always just flip over my hand. I dont say anything, i dont slam them down with excitement.. just the same flick of the wrist. I've always enjoyed the tiny bit of satisfaction of seeing the player who caught me bluffing lean forward and squint back and forth at my hand and the board but ultimately always showing and winning, to which i then tap the table and say nice hand. I guess i always thought maybe perhaps someone could muck their hand and I'd win but i never would angle in a way where i would flip it over and verbally say straight. However, now that this has actually happened I cant help but feel wrong. I didn't intentionally angle the guy.. i flipped my cards over silently and he should table his hand..

Is there any world where as played, a pair of sevens is good here or is this certainly a misread? I feel like with the J exposed, its just 100% AJ and he thinks i have a straight but please thoughts there and also.. Am i wrong here ?

Thanks for taking the time to read.
