Ok so I'm at Rivers Casino playing 1/3 in seat 3. I don't get to play often. Hazards of being a responsible adult I guess, but I've got nearly 30-years of NLHE under my belt.

About an hour into my night I get QJcc and to this point I've had less than desirable cards. Nitty, but fair. I limp. Guy next to me raises to $13. Seat 7 calls. He is wild and plays ATC, as I played with him briefly the night before. I call.

Flop comes 10cQd7s...PFR is on button, so it goes check, check. Raiser bets $15. Call, call.

Turn is 9c. Same routine. Check, check, bet of $20...call, call.

River goes 5c. Our wildcard tanks for 15-20 seconds and shoves! $270 to be exact. Now I'd seen him do this the night before, and he pulled off a bluff. I felt I was good with 3rd nuts.

Meanwhile, this poor bastard on the button is perplexed. So I re-jam for a few dollars less. Now seat 4 is in disbelief. He's agonizing on what to do. He had somebody sitting with him that wasn't playing and telling him to fold. Dealer stepped in and said no table-talk...Meanwhile this guy is red in the face, not sure what to do. I'm almost certain I've got this, cause i know seat 7 doesnt have me beat.

Sure enough, seat 4 makes a crying call and I flip over the winner. Seat 7 mucks. Seat 4...well this guy starts to mother f me out loud. He eventually turns over pocket 10's, so he flopped a set.

Seat 7 got cleaned out and left. Then seat 4 starts calling me a fat-fuck (Im like 250 max) and some other shit, berating me for calling.

Simply put...

  1. I'm calling that $15 flop bet with top pair, as would 99.9% of all players.
  2. I'm calling that $20 turn bet with the re-draw to an open-ended straight flush draw, as would 99.9% of all players.
  3. Seat 4 is last to act and in a bad spot with checks to him each time. He's got the best hand, but can only build a pot with callers behind. Nobody is betting into him, allowing for him to re-raise.

Was this nitty my part or just pot-odds/read the room the right play? His behavior was awful. The floor 'warned him' and a few hands later, I just left. The Casino should have tossed him, but whatever.

Ok hit me...I can take it. But I don't see where I'm such a donk here.
