C’mon guys. I see so many people flaming Nick for folding the nut straight with a redraw to the nut flush. It’s so easy for us to say considering we actually knew what the other guy had.
What else could the guy have raised with besides a flush? Last I checked, a flush beats a straight, people. Nick has that sixth sense that only established pros have. He KNEW the dude had a flush. A great read in my book.
Well, so this ONE time the guy happened to be bluffing with pocket 3’s. How is Nick supposed to know? 9 times out of 10 he has the flush. And 9 times out of 10, Nick looks like a genius. The guy still could’ve rivered him, and I think Nick knew it, too. Again, that rare sixth sense. So, he saved himself a lot of money overall.
I, for one, am glad there are still such great ambassadors of poker like Mr Nicholas Vertucci in this world. Someone we can trust. Someone we can aspire to be. God bless you Nick
