Is Pokémon go with getting in to now?

I have always liked Pokémon go and wanted to play it but growing up when it was surging I didn’t have a phone with service so I didn’t bother downloading it. Now a few friends have tried to talked me into getting it but I haven’t because Im worried since I haven’t been in it since launch it’s not worth getting into. What do you guys think?
