My Sandshrew CD experience
Post Body

Halfway into Community Day now and it’s time for lunch break. Also sharing my thoughts into this CD.

Total Sandshrew caught: 159

Total shiny: Kanto 2/Alola 7

For me, this is sort of a new shiny CD as despite playing for 5 years, shiny K-shrew has eluded me forever. A-shrew on the other hand, I have hatched way too many of that shiny.

So my playstyle for today is basically shiny checking K-shrew while mostly catching A-shrew. This would be the best time to get PVP A-slash as A-shrew only appears in the wild during rare events.

Maybe it is my bias findings but why am I getting more Alolan shiny than Kanto? A-shrew is permaboosted sure but shouldn’t both be the same rate during CD?

In terms of spawn rate, I feel that it is slightly skewed towards A-shrew but not so much, maybe 60-40 ish.

Just a reminder, mega evolving Steelix will give you extra candy for both Sandshrew.

Thank goodness also I hoarded plenty of shadow Pokemon and got myself shadow Sandslash with Night Slash. I should thanks past myself for this.

The usual CD perks like CD pokestop research, 5 photobombs are still there as usual. Also, only the ‘Catch 3 Sandshrew’ field research is available and none of those new ones, hooray!

What do you think of Niantic re-using their old CD idea? Will we be seeing another Dratini/Squirtle/Bulbasaur CD but with new moves? Or God forbid Caterpie CD?
