It’s only been 1 hour plus into CD but I’ll just share my thoughts for now.

Total Spheal caught: 84

Total shiny: 6

Triple XP CD on an easy excellent throw Pokemon i.e. 7000XP per catch, this is just awesome! Bulbasaur shouldn’t be a problem too next week, eventually muscle memory should kick in.

If it wasn’t for the triple XP bonus, I would probably do this CD just for the shiny. When you already have 5000 candy and 300 XL candy for it, it’s really hard to justify catching more.

Fortunately I have 2 shadow Spheal for this CD and got both moves upon evolving. It’s a bummer for other players that have Spheal with Frustration, potentially need to wait until December CD recap to get these moves without elite TM.

The usual CD perks like CD pokestop research, 5 photobombs are still there as usual. However though, there are 2 new field researches for this CD which honestly are not my liking.

• Spin 5 stops: ball/dust

• Walk 1km: Spheal encounter/ball

If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it! The catch 3 Spheal are easy enough that you can do it at the stop instantaneously but these 2 new ones are not worth the effort.

In summary, enjoy the XP fest this CD and next week’s.
