Turn off and on gps. No need for a remote raid pass question.

I have found out that you can join a raid using the raid pass instead of the remote raid pass when you turn off your gps, join the gym and the option to use the raid pass instead of the remote raid pass appears. But you need to turn on the gps again if you want to join the raid.
My question is, is it safe doing so?
