Hello everyone, my name is Craft and I run the United Pokemaniacs League or UPL. We recently finished our 8th season and are now starting preparations for Season 9.

Today I am here to announce two things:

• Our Gym Challenge
• The applications for Season 9

Each topic has info below.

Gym Challenge

The Gym Challenge is our current offseason event (event while we are between seasons). However, this gym challenge is vastly different to normal gym challenges. Here is some cool info about it:

• You need to earn 8 gym badges to challenge the Elite Four (we currently have about 10 gyms, 3 mystery gyms, and possibly some gyms may be added later).
• Challengers start with only 3 Pokemon. As you earn more gym badges you are able to add more Pokemon to your roster.
• Gym leaders have different types of battles (like 2v2 singles, 3v3 singles, 4v4 doubles, etc) depending on the amount of badges you have
• Each Gym Leader has a gimmick that makes the battles more unique!

Anyone who is interested can participate, you just need to be on our Discord Server. If you have any questions about the gym challenge please feel free to ask below!

UPL Season 9

For those who do not know what a Pokemon League is, but are interested: It is where a number of coaches battle each other over a period of time. Some examples on YouTube include the WBE, UCL, and GBA.

Here is some information about the UPL:

• We are Discord based (all talking is done on Discord)
• Battling is done on Showdown (it is easier for everyone that way)
• We are looking to have 16-20 coaches this season
• Current plan is to start in mid-September
• We have a point based draft (draft would be early September)
• Great, helpful, and active community with events going on from time to time (currently we have the gym challenge)
• Lots of other info that would make this post way too long :P

If you are unsure about joining yet, you are free to chill in the Discord server and talk with all our members.

Summary

So I know this post is super long so I want to do a quick summary to wrap it up.

• We currently have a unique gym challenge going on that anyone can participate in.
• We are currently preparing for S9 of our league, which anyone is free to apply for
• You can participate in both, or just one! Whatever you want.
