So I'm playing through Pokemon Black for the first time and I run into the second gym. I was excited because one of the homies says that the gym leader is an archaeologist. I'm like "finally some representation in my video game" but I soon find out that they use normal type Pokemon and there are fossils. Wouldn't ground make more sense because we dig in the dirt for a living? Also fossils fall into the Paleontology category not archaeology. Does this make the game "LiTtErAllY UnPlAyAbLe?" No. Is it frustrating because I can't escape the common misconception that archaeologists look for fossils? Yes. Source: I'm an archaeologist.
