Why do you think Ash always forgets his previous adventures?

I mean he forgets he's met most of the legendaries before, he forgets he can see aura as evidenced when he watches Korrina in X&Y and fails to see the aura that the Lucario's are using, etc. Anyone got a theory as to why that is?
