Whatโs the saddest pokemon lore/worst deal you can remember?
Mine is Ninetales.
They can live for 1200 years. A human can live AT MOST 120. Foxes in general are obsessive, possessive, protective.
So imagine: a vulpix grows to love her human partner. She seeks maturity, as all pokemon do, and evolves, not realizing the vast gulf she has put between them. She stays young and beautiful for decades, watching her human wither and grow frail, she guards his house and his children, for they are a part of him, and therefore belong to her. She stays young as they grow. She stays young as they leave the house to find mates of their own.
She stays young as he eventually dies.
She passes into legend as successive generation after generation forget her. Still young.
She waits. For the return of a man who has long turned into bone dust.
I weep every time I consider it.
