I’ve only played core games from Generation 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, with most of my time invested into 3 and 6.

I’ve noticed that each one requires a different amount of “grinding,” or wild-Pokémon battling just to level up your Pokémon and keep them competitive as you progress through the game.

Gen 6 seems to be the lowest of the games I’ve played - you could progress through the game with very little grinding, especially once you have the Exp Share, as each battle seems to go just a little further with the Exp contribution compared to other generations. So far, Gen 4 seems to require a bit more than Gen 3, etc.

Ranked, (of the games I’ve played) from “Highest Grind” to “Lowest Grind,” I’d say it looks like this:

2. Gen 2
3. Gen 4
4. Gen 3
5. Gen 6

For those who have played more generations, how would you rank them?
