Never written poetry before, my better half suggested it as a distraction, or even a way of describing how I feel about imminent cancer treatment. I had no idea where to post it, so I figured why not here. Its not very original, but gotta start somehwere right?
The light at the end of the tunnel,
Relief from the darkness inside,
The light at the end of the tunnel,
Into the brightness I’ll hide.
The darkness it follows me out here,
And starts to turn back the tide,
The darkness it follows out here,
And brushes the brightness aside.
The light it is slowly fading,
Blackest maw is opening wide,
The light it is slowly fading,
The fight left inside me has died.
The light at the end of the tunnel,
Fading behind me hands tied,
The light at the end of the tunnel,
Flickering fading, has died.
