Pugilistic Poetry / Poetry with Punch
UNDISPUTED
The scene is set,
the stage is grand,
standing there nervous,
your fate in your hands.
The time has come, to show what you’ve got, the stuff that you are made of, and what your opposition’s not.
Its one on one, or as the saying goes, time for talking has gone, as we go toe to toe.
The hunger and desire, to make your followers proud, the yelling and cheering, from this parochial crowd.
They paid to see a show, so that’s what they’ll see, a technical assassin, that stings like a bee.
Opponents have tried, more will try too, But all have bitten off, more than they can chew.
I am not only physically, but mentally prepared, with your back on the ropes opportunities everywhere.
You didn’t think it through wanting to take me on, these punches on your chin, must feel like a tonne.
I’m too quick, just too fast,
as i stalk my prey,
unrelenting in attacks,
you dont know whats the day,
where u are, whats the time,
all answers you don’t know,
as i move through your defence,
to deliver another savage blow.
On the canvas stay down, you are totally beat, it was always going to be you, knocked off your feet.
See losing is a concept, i never did grasp, its a word i don’t like, so it’s you on your ass.
Dedication and belief, are embedded in my core, once i jump in the ring, my hands are the law.
Respect i do give you, for having a go, for thinking you could beat me, be the star of this show.
Alot of this night, you most likely wont remember, with your face busted up, your ribs red and tender.
So when you meet with your team, to watch the tape and take notes, analyzing the fight from pillar to post, take pride in the fact you did as you said, leave everything in the ring, now that ring is your bed.
