Noob question. I keep seeing the download metric mentioned. All the hosts too make a point to tout their analytics based on downloads.
Now, maybe it's because I listen mostly on Spotify, but I've never downloaded an episode of anything.
I'll follow shows, get notifications, etc. And listen to the entire episode. But I've yet to download.
I'd imagine most people do it my way. Is there another metric measured besides downloads? Either way, why is downloads such a popular indicator when I'd think most people just hit "play" and stream it.
