How much time do you spend editing?
Post Body

We publish a somewhat regular podcast in and interview/dialogue type of format. The person is interviewed over the phone, with the host using a mic/Podtrak P4 setup.

Normal interview runs about 55-70 minutes (depending on multiple circumstances). I try to edit down to 35-45 minutes. I don't touch any of the words the person being interviewed says, but I do work on the interviewer to make it sound a bit more polished. Also the normal, remove background noise, pet noises, long pauses, heavy breathing, etc.

I believe this takes me much longer than it should, spending 3-4 hours (at least) before getting to the finished product (which also includes adding intro music, introduction, and closing music/statement).

What are ya'll looking at here.

(For more info, recording phone interview on Podtrak P4 locally - to get the multitrack, with a back up on a MacBook Air using Audacity. Audacity is also used for editing and publishing).
