I'm in the process of getting a podcast off the ground, and I'm looking into the best ways to include transcripts. With episodes on the order of an hour, the transcripts are going to be lengthy enough that I'd like to do this right from the start and not have to redo work, and I've not had too much luck finding best practices examples for display (most of what I found when searching seems to be transcript generation itself... I certainly welcome tips on that as well that are low-to-no cost and don't require and Apple environment, but I'm more concerned about trying to figure out what that final format should be).
The episodes I'm doing are involving two (sometimes three or four) people talking, and so I'm curious if anyone has found something that works in terms of a useful format for the transcripts when handling multiple speakers. I'm particularly curious about handling timestamps, if those are worth including, and any formatting tips to do so. So, for example, it I should include time stamps, or if I should just keep those for my own reference but strip them out of publicly available transcripts that would be hosted on my web site (examples would also be welcome to check out).
