Hi everyone, I just wanted to drop a quick update on the State of the Subreddit. Only a couple of things to update but important nevertheless.
Organisation
Previously we had welcomed a new member of the mod team but due to various factors, they have left. We do, however, have good news and can welcome /u/CharlieSolace to the mod team. He is in charge of keeping the sidebar updated as of the latest match. He is to be a much more active mod in the maintenance of the sub. So, welcome and thank you for stepping up.
For the purpose of transparency, here is the current mod team structure:
/u/spaceindaver - Not active on this sub
/u/Felbridge - I'm not particularly active on this sub but will help out occasionally when needed and am active in general so am contactable.
/u/CharlieSolace - New member of mod team, in charge of keeping sidebar and elements updated.
While at the moment I think we have a pretty good set up, if you think you are up for being a mod and attempting to breath new life into the sub, send me a message or send a modmail saying what you could bring to the sub and i'll get back to you.
Sub Theme
Back when we re-started this sub, I worked on a theme that is what you are seeing here today. While it works and is one of the nicer Championship/League 1 subs (if I do say so myself) it's getting a bit tired. I am going to attempt to look into applying a new theme before the start of the next season (or atleast some point this year). This will more likely be an adaptation of a theme like /r/Naut (A common but very good theme). If you have any suggestions for themes, please suggest them. Also, if you have any interest in helping with a new theme and you have coding/design expereince, drop me a line and we can have a look at what we can do.
Match Threads
Match threads are still being applied by the /u/MatchThreadder bot. It works well and provides up to date match stats with minimal effort on our end. Below is how to make a match thread using the bot:
The only downside is that they can only be created up to 5 mins before the match so that doesn't provide much pre-match chat. On the plus side, you don't have to be a mod or anything to request a match thread, anyone can.
To request a match thread for another subreddit, send a message to /u/MatchThreadder with the subject line of "Match Thread" and "Team 1 vs Team 2 for /r/subreddit" (where /r/subreddit is whatever specific subreddit you'd like the match thread in).
Cheers everyone.
