The root of my anxiety is "Did I choose the right resources to study? How can I be sure that I know enough and am prepared to take the exam?" especially since there are so many materials out there to explore. A lot of people seem to benefit from SH, but it wasn't in my budget so I was nervous of missing out, but alas, I'm one of the lucky ones who passed AT without it.
Study timeframe: roughly 3 months, 3-5 days a week, 1-2 hours
Study materials:
- AR's Udemy course - rewatched twice. The first time I watched it, it was incredibly overwhelming but the second time watching it on 2x speed was helpful. The section on Mindset is useful too.
- AR's YouTube video: "Terms to Know"
- TIA exams - purchase accordingly! I didn't realize until after I purchased that it expires within 60 days, which was 30 days prior to my exam.
- David McLachlan's YouTube videos: "150 PMBOK 7 Q&A's" and "200 Agile Q&A's"
- I only referenced PMBOK 7 to review terms I didn't understand from David's YouTube videos. I don't think this is a must-have though. I probably could've used Google to look up those terms too.
Exam day: I took it in person because I live with a demanding (yet very lovely) cat and dog. I struggle with taking exams so when I felt the words started to glaze over, I would advert my eyes away from the screen and take 2 deep breaths to ground myself. That definitely helped. I also took both breaks, despite the hassle because I had to be escorted by the proctor, but I highly recommend it.
As another person had recently posted, it was about 50% predictive, 25% hybrid, and 25% agile.
I so appreciate this sub for helping me pass this milestone. Best of luck to those who will be taking the exam. You got this!
