Is there any particular way being plural is supposed to feel like?

Yesterday when I was having an emotional crisis it definitely felt like someone was here with me. It felt like she was active and much more 'visible' for lack of a better word. But now it feels like she only talks when prompted and I don't know if she's actually there or if our thoughts are separate. Is this how it's supposed to be or is there more to it?
Oh yeah, I should mention that I've only realized I might be plural.
