So imma preface this by saying that I'm a massive Metal Gear fan. And like many Metal Gear fans, I'm disgusted by Metal Gear Survive, but it is what is is, and I will not be buying it. Now at the same time, I am a big fan of the growing genre of battle royale games, so if Konami is gonna bastardize the Metal Gear name, at least turn it into a cool game, and I truly think a battle royale type game would be the answer. The game would have the gameplay mechanics of MGS5, which were tight and polished as hell, and would run at a smooth 60fps on consoles. And just look at the 2 maps from MGS5, they already seem like they'd lend themselves pretty well to being maps for a battle royale, with the multitude of smaller settlements littered across a large, open map. Throw in some mechanics with the iconic MGS cardboard box, like empty cardbaord boxes that will be randomly placed across the map in each game, and have a usable cardboard box be a rare item, and it'd be amazing. And obviously throw in the other usual battle royale things; weapons scattered around, armor/health increasing items, vehicles (none of the tanks or APCs of course), and I think a battle royale game with the Fox Engine MGS5-ness could probably but into the Fortnite/PUBG market, especially if it were free or cheap. Throw in the obligatory lootboxes for cosmetics and I'm sure Konami could turn this thing into a cash cow, with little risk. Thoughts?
