I got my son a PS5 for his birthday but I haven’t played video games in like 20 years. Help.

He’s turning 9 and this is his first game console. I got him Madden 25, MLB The Show 24, and a few other games that I think are good for his level.
Is this something that he’ll just figure out on his own? Is there anything to know before setting it all up?
